Today after siesta, Matthew and I went on a churros date! We haven't gone in a long time, I think we only went one time this semester and so it was much needed. And this just might have been the last time eating churros and chocolate here for Matthew :( He leaves Granada next Friday, May 22nd, just like everyone else from our group does, the day after our last finals. I am staying a week longer since my friends will be in town!
After churros, we walked around the Arabic shops and picked up a few more gifts we needed for some friends and family back home, then after dinner, we spent some more time packing. I have my biggest suitcase pretty much all packed. I have all my warmer clothes in there, gifts, shoes, souvenirs, boxes. Then I have my carry-on suitcase plus my big hiking backpack yet to pack, so I know I will have plenty of room for everything to fit.
Other than that, nothing too exciting happened today. It was another warm day, 36 Celsius, which is about 97 in the sun!! WOW!!! I finally was able to pull out my shorts and wear those for the first time this semester. No more sweaters or jeans, wayyyy too warm for those! But....you can tell on the streets when people are from Granada. Even in this hot weather they are wearing jeans, scarves, jackets. Not sure how that's even possible! And here are us Americans sweating even in shorts! I guess they don't get as warm as we do because for them, the high heat comes in July and August.
2 more days until my friend and her mom arrive! YAY :)
