No more presentations. No more papers. Feels so nice to be done with all of that! What's next? Oh, just five finals next week. No problem ;)
In my Culture of Spain class today, we had our last presentation (the one we thought we had last Wednesday). And I think it went really well! It was about the education system in Spain, in comparison to the education system in the US. I talked about my personal experiences volunteering at two different schools in Granada, also about homeschooling, after school activities, and working while in school. During my first slide, I accidentally mixed up my note cards that I was holding, and couldn't find the right order while I was up there talking. I quickly decided to just keep talking and not worry about the note cards. And...actually it worked! I knew what was on the slides, I just like having the note cards there to help when I get stuck, but I think it went really well without them. I spoke at a good pace, got my thoughts across, and had remembered some of the important things I wanted to say. Like I said before, for some reason giving presentations in Spanish doesn't make me nervous like back home. No idea why. But I love talking in Spanish :)
In my Grammar class, we started our last chapter and it doesn't seem too difficult. She actually explained everything at a good pace today and I wasn't lost the entire time. So that's good!
My last class on M and W is always the most fun, my Writing and Speaking class. Our professor is great, always in a good mood!
After siesta today, Ashley and I went to the park at 5pm to run. I guess it wasn't the smartest idea, considering it was like 90 today, so we were only able to run two laps and had to stop because of the heat. No wonder why there was barely anyone else in the park! Normally I run at 7 or 8, and people always say that at 4 and 5 when it's warm, you shouldn't be outside. Those are the warmest times of the day...and they are right! No more 5pm runs! That was just the only time I had today since I went to Lucia and Elena's house.
Lucia and Elena had so much energy today, and it was so hard to get them to focus. It must be the warm weather, but it seems all the children, even at the schools, just want to be outside enjoying the weather. Not sure, but the girls were throwing things, not listening, running around, crying about little things. Their dad took me home a little bit early because Elena was throwing a tantrum and screaming, we weren't even sure why. But, kids will be kids and we all have our off days :)
*Here is what we have been eating lately:
Noodle soup with vegetables. Barbeque pizza.
