It was such a busy day today celebrating Jo and Val's last day in Granada :( Tomorrow morning they are off to PARIS!!
This morning, I stayed home a little bit to pack and help clean the house, Val went on a bus for a city tour of Granada, and Jo stayed in at their place to pack her bags as well. We were planning on having them over at Marisa's house for dinner either yesterday or today, but it didn't work out. On Monday, Marisa said tomorrow would be better, and then on Tuesday, she said that Wednesday would be better, but this morning I checked in with her one more time if they could come for lunch, and she didn't really sound like she wanted them over. I was bummed because I wanted them to have a nice lunch with our family and Marisa had told me she really wanted to hang out with them at some point. Marisa left to do some shopping and said she would let me know for sure when she got back. Well, I waited an hour or two and then Jo, Val, and I were all getting very hungry, so I left a note for Marisa and told her I would just eat lunch with my friends for their last day. Oh well I guess :( Things don't always go as planned.
But, lunch ended up being great! We found an Italian Restaurant with seating outside on the patio. Val ate steak, and Jo and I both had spaghetti. DELICIOUS!
Then we walked around town for a while because Jo wanted to look for a dress for the Flamenco show tonight. Eventually, I had to leave because I was meeting up with Lucia, Elena, and their parents to say goodbye.
I haven't watched the girls in two weeks or so because both of us have been super busy. I met them all at a quaint little cafe called Naranja Burger around 7pm, just in time for a merienda, snack (between lunch and dinner). Lucia and Elena were very energetic and could barely sit in their chairs for more than two minutes at a time. They were running around the restaurant, doing cartwheels...eventually we all had a chocolate and ice cream crepe. As a gift, they both gave me a framed picture of them wearing Flamenco dresses, and I gave them all the stuff that the teacher at Ave Maria had given me. All the flashcards, letter and number books, and a huge book in English. They loved it all! I wish I could have spent more time with their family because they are just so kind and sweet. We tried to get a picture of the girls and I afterwards but all they could think of was going to the park so it was hard to catch a good one. Each one was smiling in a different picture :)
At 8pm, I met up with Jo and Val at their place, and we were off to our Flamenco show! We enjoyed the show, but I think the one I saw with my study abroad group last semester was a little better. It was in a cave and they dancers were way more interactive with the audience. This time it was still really good, but a little more serious, but what a fun time!

It was difficult to get a good picture without them moving! I loved seeing how talented they are, they move their feet SO fast.
After the show, we decided to get some tapas at Rincón de Rodri, a delicious seafood tapas bar and restaurant. We got a tapa of fried calamari, ordered a plate of shrimp and crawfish, and another tapa of shrimp skewers. It's amazing how much food you can get for so cheap because of the tapas! We loved it all and ended up staying for about two hours just laughing and talking the night away. We could have stayed longer but decided it was best for them to get some sleep because they would be getting up early for their flight to Paris tomorrow. But, it was a great night, I missed times like this :)
