Today, Jo, Val, and I spent the day around Granada. In the morning, we visited the Mirador de San Nicolas. One of Matthew and I's favorite places where we can look over the whole city and the beautiful Alhambra. The weather was looking like rain on the forecast today, but it was blue sky and sunny all day. What more could we ask for? :) I loved just sitting up there looking out and thinking about these past nine months. I feel like it was yesterday when I arrived....and here I am, nine months later, four levels higher in Spanish, and with a lifetime of stories to tell. This wonderful place I've called home these last nine months has treated me well!
After the Mirador, we walked around town a bit and then we stopped for lunch at Pad Thai. The last time we would eat this delicious, spicy, noodle dish. We sure enjoyed it! And of course, I needed a picture for my scrapbook!
We also all stopped to get some gifts for friends and family. Their names written in Arabic! How cool :) Only 1 euro!

The next two and a half hours we spent at a nail salon so Jo's mom, Val, could get her nails redone. It took a long time, but was interesting to watch. I was just getting so tired, because it was during siesta time, I had wished they had a bed for a nap!
But, we did get a nice dessert to share out of it, so that was okay ;)

After the nail salon, we walked around town a little bit more, and then I left Jo and Val so I could make it home for dinner. I had been in shorts and a t-shirt all day and it was getting pretty chilly....so back at home Marisa asked what I wanted for dinner and I said a little soup appetizer sounded great. So we had soup and ham and cheese sandwiches (but the good ham, from the cured leg!) YUM!
Tomorrow we are up early to go hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains...another one of my favorite places :)
