So excited that my best friend and her mom arrived safely!
Today I had my last classes! Crazy to think only one week of finals left! In both classes we just did review for the tests next week. Then after, at 11:30, I was off to catch the bus to the airport at noon. I arrived a little bit early, the bus stop is close to school, but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't miss it. If I missed this one, I wouldn't make it in time.
They were supposed to arrive in Granada from Madrid at 1:35pm, but once I got there I found out they were a little bit delayed and were arriving at 2:09pm. But that was okay. I had all my school work with me, so I just studied to my exams while I was waiting. Then they finally announced the plane had arrived!! I waited, along with many other people, waiting to see their friends and family. I kept seeing everyone else come out except Jo and her mom....but finally they came through with their luggage and it was a happy and emotional moment :)
We quickly got on the bus, that was just about to leave, and took it to the center of Granada where we met Matthew. We thought we knew where their tourist apartment was, but apparently we had the wrong address and so we ended up walking so long with all the luggage, and boy was it hot at this time. We finally ended up having the apartment owner meet us, because it was just too difficult to find. But, she met us, and it worked out in the end, and what a nice place! It actually ended up being much closer to Marisa's house so that's good. After that, we went to get a few things at the grocery store, walked around a bit, and then went back to our house to meet our host family. There we had a few drink and cured ham (yum!) and spend some time together talking in the living room. What a fun time!
Then, Matthew left to meet his classmates for tapas, and Jo, Val, and I all took a walk in the park next door. It's amazing how much it cools off when the sun goes down.
Us three girls then spend the next few hours having some summer wine and tapas at one of our favorite bars for Spanish food. They tried croquetas, tuna, cheese, meatballs, potatoes...and they were all delicious! :)
We decided to call it a bit of an early night because tomorrow morning is my last day volunteering with the students at La Asunción and they are joining me to see what it's like. Should be fun!
